A SCHOOL WITH A GLOBAL VISION

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD (ISA)

Recognizes and celebrates exemplary practices of internationalism in schools.

The International School Award is a British Council accreditation scheme rewarding schools with a notable global element in their curriculum. The scheme began in 1999 and since then, over 1000 International School Awards have been granted.

ISA was piloted in India in 2003 and today more than 1200 schools in India have been accredited. The range of schools participating in ISA varies from the well-resourced private schools to government schools from rural areas and schools for the less advantaged communities.

The International School Award (ISA) is a benchmarking scheme that accredits schools as having an outstanding level of support for:

Nurturing global citizenship in young people

Enriching teaching and learning

ISA provides a framework for schools to develop an action plan and implement international activities throughout the year, and encourages schools to collaborate with overseas schools to create a rich learning experience for students through use of ICT, creative pedagogical practices and real context for learning.

It has a positive impact on not just the students, but also the teachers and school in entirety.

It is a leadership challenge and fosters teambuilding, innovation, and project management.

We are pleased to announce that JKG International School Vijay Nagar has registered with British Council for ISA, since that time our teaching methodology and perception of the subjects have undergone a sea change. With the world fast becoming a global village it has become imperative for us (teachers and students) to think and act as global citizens." As a part of ISA process the school has to undergo various projects at different levels in consultation with British Council, which will enable our students to showcase their different talents and abilities that are of great value in the outside world. This will also give our students an “International experience of learning”. As a part of ISA the school will organise various activities for each and every age group on time to time basis. The entire process hones the skills of students in whatever activities they embark upon.
